Innovative Senior Health Center Aurum Wellness Opens in Missouri City

Comprehensive care with state-of-the-art diagnostics and health coaching

Missouri City, TX (Nov. 3, 2022) – It’s no secret that older adults are living longer these days. Improvements in public health and medical advances and technologies have helped increase longevity for many baby boomers.

For this reason, more specialized care services are becoming available to the 60 and over community like those being offered by the new and innovative Aurum Wellness senior clinic.

After a year and a half of construction, Aurum Wellness opened the doors of its first site on November 1 in Missouri City. Located at 3021 Texas Parkway, the 10,600 sq. ft. health center brings a unique senior care concept to the area offering more than traditional clinical services to older adults. It will also offer an in-house comprehensive lab and health coaching to help seniors stay healthier longer.

Recognized by a circular purple and gold logo, Aurum Wellness is spacious and welcoming with an artistic and comfortable lobby area, 10 exam rooms, and an X-ray room on one side of the facility known as the Med Care portion. Other features include wider entry ways, large exam rooms, soft exam chairs, and handrails in the aisles.

Med Care provides annual wellness exams, management of acute or chronic health conditions, immunizations/vaccinations, longer appointment times, and access to support services that focus on improving the whole being.

The other side of the facility, known as Well Care, was created in collaboration with Thorne HealthTech. Thorne HealthTech is a leader in developing the world’s most innovative solutions for a personalized approach to health and wellbeing.

Well Care, which will open in early 2023, will offer an innovative and immersive approach to health evaluations through facilitation of its Thorne Lab. It will feature a set of high-tech stations that examine the body and mind, using the latest diagnostic techniques to understand an individual’s health. Additional Well Care services will include biological age assessments and hypertension monitoring.

Aurum Wellness Associate Medical Director Dr. Jung-Hoon Kim will spearhead the patient care team.  “Our care team will focus on more than treating your ailments,” says Dr. Kim. He adds that patients will have personalized health care plans through a proactive screening approach.

Along with the wellness evaluation, patients will engage in conversations with the health coach to discuss results and create a health action plan to address any area that needs attention.

“Our goal is to keep you as healthy and active as possible,” says Chinelo Nweke, site manager for the senior clinic. “Our approach is to provide comprehensive care with state-of-the-art diagnostics and health coaching to move patients beyond acute care and toward prevention and wellness.”

Nweke adds that the site will have a social worker. “It’s very important to us to better understand any barriers patients may have so we can improve their overall quality of life and increase their access to care.”

Additionally, the clinic for older adults will have a registered dietician, a pharmacy that delivers medications, and a community room for health education and events. Behavioral health services will be available in a few months.

Aurum Wellness accepts Medicare, Medicare Advantage and private insurance (HMO/PPOs) and is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
